COLIN: 28, 6’2”, 180 lbs. He’s got chestnut brown hair, thick eyebrows, a sharp jaw, abs: essentially movie star good looks. In my mind he looks like KJ Apa. He joined Ecclesium because he was an actor who couldn’t make anything happen. Ecclesium helped him break through what was holding him back and gave him purpose. He starred in a show and became famous quickly. He met Dominus, who asked him to lead the LA chapter. In the present, he meets with Dominus, who tells him that he needs him in DC to meet with the President’s son and recruit him.
Why do we love Colin? We love him because he’s a genuinely sweet guy. Sure, he’s a little naive and he’s in a cult, but we love him regardless.
ZACH: 26, 5’10”, 160 lbs. He’s got brown hair but a kind of red beard, a dangly cross earring, and he’s a snappy dresser. He’s the president’s youngest son, openly gay. He has an okay relationship with his dad, he feels stifled by all of the restraints of being a public figure. He’s living in DC working as a graphic artist. It’s been tough living a life under the spotlight. He tried to kill himself when he was 16. But he came out and decided to accept who he was. When he was 19 in college, he dated a closeted man. Since then, he’s decided: no closet drama. He’s been open about his history of attempted suicide and his passion for LGBT rights.
Why do we love Zach? Because he’s a passionate person who cares about LGBT rights. He’s kind and he’s decent and he’s vulnerable with Colin.
MATTHEW AKA DOMINUS: 40, 5’11. He has long brown hair and a British accent. He founded Ecclesium to be a sort of multi-level marketing scheme, he’s made a ton of money off of it. However, Stacy Chapman’s defection has cost him corporate sponsors and is attracting a lot of negative press. His goal is to ostensibly use Zach as a high profile recruit to spread their message to the President of the United States, but really he needs Zach to help bring the deep pockets back. His backup plan is to kidnap Zach and sell him to someone to cover their debts.
What is Dominus’ plan? Recruit Zach. Secret Plan-- Step 1: make contact. Step 2: humor him with a date until you gain his trust. Step 3: do what it takes to get him back. (have sex with him). Step 4: Bring him to an Ecclesium event. Step 5: apologize and do what it takes to get him back again (have sex with him again). Step 6: separate him from the secret service so that we can pitch him on Ecclesium (kidnap him).
The reason he wants him to separate from the Secret Service is because he’s paranoid about leaks. He doesn’t want the information getting out of the room.
