Characters:

Oliver: 18, only his dad calls him Ollie. He’s tall and slim, with tan skin and a swimmer’s build. He has soft blond hair like his mother. He’s never had sex with his girlfriend, but he always assumed that he would branch out in college. He’s never even thought about the fact that he might be gay. He wants to go to West Virginia Tech on a swimming scholarship. His mom died 1 year ago, both men are still grieving her loss.

What does Oliver want? Right now he’s someone who seems to have little to no agency. He loves swimming, but that’s about it. His mother died and he’s dealing with the grief from that. Maybe his dad is like his best friend until that moment. He wants his best friend back. “I didn’t go anywhere, Ollie.” But you did. You ruined what we had all because of this sick fantasy you have about me. But I can’t dad, I can’t be that for you. I just wanted to be your son. “I don’t believe you. I know you, I know my son. I know you want me just as badly as I want you. I can feel it in your body, in the way you look at me, the way you feel when I touch you. Tell me you don’t want me. Tell me you want me to leave you alone and I’ll leave you alone.” Dad… “

Noah: 45, Oliver’s dad. He’s grieving the loss of his wife from the year before. He was always bisexual, but having fallen in love with his wife he was nothing but faithful to her. Now that he is single and his heart is opening up to love again, it’s leading toward the most unlikely of places--his son! Noah had fucked around with guys in high school and college, but he hadn’t had gay sex in years. Now that his son has just turned 18, he’s decided that it’s time to tell him how he feels and see what happens. He thinks that his son might be gay, so he decides to push him.
